- TIBC; Anemia -TIBC. Total iron binding capacity (TIBC) is a blood test to see if you have too much or too little iron in your blood. Iron moves through the blood attached to a protein called transferrin. This test helps your health care provider know how well that protein can carry iron in your blood.
- If you have iron deficiency anaemia (a lack of iron in your blood), your iron level will be low but your TIBC will be high.
- What is a normal TIBC level?
- Normal Results:-
- Total iron binding capacity (TIBC): Males: 171 to 505 mcg/dL (30.6 to 90.3 micromol/L); Females: 149 to 492 mcg/dL (26.7 to 88.0 micromol/L)
- একটা বাসে ৫০ টা সীট আছে- কিন্ত যাত্রী হলো ২০ জন-
- মানে ৩০ টা সীট এখনো ফাঁকা আছে, তাহলে বাসের যাত্রীধারণ ক্ষমতা এখনো অনেক বেশী-
- মানে TIBC বেশী-
- যাত্রীকে আয়রণ চিন্তা করুন, আয়রণ কম থাকলে TIBC বাড়বে-
- আয়রণ ডেফিসিয়েন্সি এনিমিয়াতে আয়রণ প্রোপাইল
- TIBC বাড়ছে মানে আয়রণ কম-
- Transferrin saturation হচ্ছে কতটা বাসের সীট ফিলাপ হলো— আয়রণ কম থাকলে কম সীট ফিলাপ হবে-
- অর্থাৎ iron deficiency তে Transferrin saturation কমবে–
- আর Transferrin হচ্ছে ফাঁকা সীট, আয়রন হচ্ছে যাত্রী, যাত্রী যতকম, ফাঁকা সীট তত বাড়বে- মানে IDA তে আয়রণ কম, Transferrin level increase হয়-
- IDA = increase TIBC, decrease Transferrin saturation
