𝗦𝘆𝗽𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘀 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻

VDRL (+)ve & TPHA (+) ve

→ Syphilis infection আছে (current অথবা past)

Disease activity নির্ভর করে VDRL titre এর উপর

• High titre → Active infection হওয়ার সম্ভাবনা বেশি

• Low / declining titre → Treated case অথবা late stage disease

VDRL (–)ve & TPHA (+) ve

→ Most commonly past (treated) infection

তবে consider করতে হবে:

Early primary syphilis (window period)

Late latent syphilis

VDRL (+)ve & TPHA (–)ve

→ False positive VDRL (Biological false positive)

যেসব condition এ দেখা যায়:

* Pregnancy

* Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE)

* Malaria

* HIV infection

* Leprosy

* Tuberculosis

Test এর role:

> VDRL / RPR → Disease activity বোঝা + treatment monitoring

> TPHA → Lifetime positive থাকে (follow-up এর জন্য useful না)

Esy tricks:-

VDRL = activity

TPHA = history (once positive, lifelong positive)
