Insomnia (অনিদ্রা)
(Definition)
(Causes / Etiology)
Hyperthyroidism, Chronic pain, GERD, Heart failure
Depression, Anxiety, PTSD
Shift work, Jet lag, Excess caffeine/alcohol, Screen exposure

(Clinical Features / Symptoms)
(Sleep onset difficulty)
(Sleep maintenance difficulty)
(Early morning awakening)
(Daytime fatigue)
(Cognitive impairment)
(Irritability)
(Clinical Diagnosis)

(Meditation, warm shower)
- Screen time কমানো, light exposure control
- Regular exercise (but not late evening)
(Overview)
Actionable Plan
- Non-drug measures: CBT-I, sleep hygiene
- Pharmacological therapy
- Secondary causes exclude করতে labs ও investigations
- Follow-up: short-term efficacy, side effects, dependency monitoring

💡 Quick Tips:
- Short-term use preferred for BZD & Z-drugs to avoid dependence.
- Ramelteon & Suvorexant safer for long-term use.
- Trazodone used if insomnia + depression/anxiety.
- Always combine pharmacotherapy with sleep hygiene & CBT-I.
