এটার মানে কিন্তু ব্যাডা মানুষ না।
MEN হলো Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia.
নাম শুনেই কিছুটা ধারণা করা যাচ্ছে,
Multiple glands এ Tumour.
ঠিক তাই। চলুন দুই মিনিটে জেনে নেই।
MEN হচ্ছে একটি rare autosomal dominant disorder যেখানে multiple glands এ hyperplasia এবং Benign or malignant tumour হয়।
MEN syndrome এর পেশেন্ট দের 2 or more endocrine tumour থাকে এবং কোনো কোনো পেশেন্ট এর Solitary endocrine tumour থাকলেও family members দের Other endocrine tumours থাকতে পারে।

কোনটা কেনো হয়?
MEN 1 এর কারণ হলো Chromosome 11 এ tumour suppressor gene এ mutation.
MEN 2 এর কারণ হলো Chromosome 10 এ RET proto- onchogene mutation.
এবারে জেনে নেই, কোন MEN এ কোন কোন condition পাওয়া যায় ।
একটা সহজ mnemonic দিয়ে মনে রাখা যায় ।

– Pancreatic neuro-endocrine tumor
B) MEN 2a ( Sipple Syndrome):- 2ps 1 M
– Primary hyperparathyroidism
– Pheochromocytoma
– Medullary carcinoma of thyroid
C)MEN 2b :- 1ps 2M
– Pheochromocytoma
– Medullary carcinoma of thyroid
– Marfanoid habitus / Mucosal neuroma
