 Main Parts:

   Diaphysis:

➪ Shaft of the bone

➪ Thick compact bone

➪ Contains medullary cavity (yellow marrow in adults).

   Metaphysis:

➪ Between diaphysis and epiphysis

➪Contains growth plate (physis) in children

   Epiphysis:

➪ Ends of the bone

➪ Mostly spongy (cancellous) bone with red marrow

➪ Covered by articular cartilage

 Blood Supply:

 Nutrient artery: Main supply to shaft

 Metaphyseal & epiphyseal arteries: Supply ends

 Periosteal arteries: Supply outer part
